.... Freedom Fire Department

James Waterman, Fire Chief/Fire Warden

The Freedom Volunteer Fire Department is a small rural fire department providing protection to the towns of Freedom and Knox, and mutual aid to the surrounding community.

For permits to burn brush, grass, building debris, or for campfires, please call James Waterman at 993-2602. Leave a message or stop by the Fire House on Monday nights between 7-9 PM. As a reminder, the burning of trash is illegal because Freedom has a door-to-door pickup of trash program

Anyone who is interested in neighbors helping neighbors is welcome to join the Freedom Volunteer Fire Department. Meetings for training and equipment maintenance take place every Monday night at 7 PM at the Freedom Fire House.
